Tina and Amanda
Tina Louise has been a author, performer and actress in the US for over 40 years. Most famously, she is known for her role as Ginger Grant (in the 60s television show Gilligan's Island). Her acting career began in stage shows during the 1950s beginning with Two's Company a musical by Bettle Davis. In the following years, she appeared in many Broadway productions until she made it big on the national theatre scene with Li'l Abner's in 1957. The singer also released her debut music album It's Time for Tina during the same year. Louise began with her Hollywood career in the year 1958 when she played Griselda Walden in God's Little Acre, a film that was dramatic. It was a huge hit and Louise was awarded an award called the Golden Globe Award for the New Star of the Years category. During this time she attended the Actors Studio of New York. Lee Strasberg was her instructor. Another notable character she portrayed as Ginger Grant, which CBS hired her to play in the year 1964. Louise continued to have a successful professional career, balancing Broadway TV with Hollywood as well as portraying a more serious in contrast to the glamour doll image she received. Amanda Tapping..........................Amanda Tapping is best known for her acting roles as Samantha Carter in the series Stargate. SG-1 & Sanctuary, although she was an accomplished television director on several series including Supernatural and The 100. Her family relocated to Essex to Toronto and she lived there for growing up and in adolescence. Following her selection for the role of Samantha Carter, she moved to Vancouver in 1997. She is a resident of Vancouver ever from then on.
