Coleman was born and raised in the town of the Lancashire town of Blackpool. She attended Arnold School Blackpool as head girl, and she received the highest marks for her A level examinations. When Coleman was asked about her role in Emmerdale she stated that it is regrettable that she did not have a traditional university experience. Coleman became a member of the theater group, In Yer Space while in school. She performed with them in the Edinburgh Festival for the play Crystal Clear. She won an award for her performance while the production was also highly praised. Coleman was offered the role of Jasmine Thomas while she was auditioning at drama schools. The audition took place in 2005. Coleman was nominated for awards in 2007 and won two Awards. Coleman was nominated twice in 2007: Best Newcomer at the British Soap Awards; and most Popular Newcomer for the National Television Awards. She was nominated in the categories of Best Actress, Sexiest Woman and for the Best Dramatic Performance during the British Soap Awards 2009. Coleman was nominated for Best Actress at the TV Choice Awards. Steven Moffat announced at a Doctor Who press conference on 21 March that Coleman was the replacement for Karen Gillan as the companion of the Doctor following Arthur Darvill left the series, would be playing the role of Matt Smith. Moffat said that he chose Coleman to play the role of companion due to her ability to be the best companion for Smith. In addition, Moffat noted that she spoke faster than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She's been working in the entertainment industry since 1987. She has been much more visible on television than in films. In all the characters Eva has appeared in, on TV shows like Dr. Maria Santos in All My Children and Detective Natalia Boa Vista' in CSI Miami are the two which make an impression. In the latter, she even received two nominations for the Daytime Emmy Awards as well as gave her the chance to experiment with her talents in music. Eva, in addition to being an actress is also an entrepreneur and philanthropist. Eva has had three marriages and is the mother of a child from her first husband.
