Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American-Canadian artist and singer. Her catalog includes more than 20 albums. DiFranco categorizes her music under the terms folk-rock and alternative, but it also includes influences like punk, hip-hop and jazz. Widely considered a feminist icon Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement being one of the first musicians to launch her own record label in 1990. DiFranco was born on the 23rd of September, 1970 in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as well as Dante Americo DiFranco.
